If you have a specific learning difference and you are not sure which course is right for you, we encourage you to book an assessment lesson so that we can choose the best course for you.

This is a 30-minute face-to-face assessment on Zoom with one of our senior tutors and includes feedback at the end of the session or by email.

We will get to know you, and put you at ease so that you feel confident and relaxed before discussing posture, finger positioning, and working through an overview of all of the letter keys. During the session, you will complete some simple typing exercises. There is no obligation to book a course at the end of the session.

We Set Your Lessons

You will have one week to complete your assigned lessons which have been set by your own designated tutor. They will make sure the amount set is achievable and manageable! All of the lessons online are fully supported with video and audio instructions so you can’t go wrong!

Check Your Results

On a set day each week, your tutor will check your results online, including your actual keystrokes. So we know exactly how you got on without even being there! We will even do a video analysis of your typing in week 3 just to make sure you are on track.

Give Next Steps...

We will then give you any advice on any areas for improvement as well as lots of tips and tricks to make your touch typing easier. We will unlock your next lessons giving you a clear guideline of what you need to do and how to do it.

What is an assessment lesson?

An assessment lesson is a 30 minute lesson on Zoom with a senior tutor.

Why do I need an assessment?

Sometimes our customers are not quite sure which course is best for them. This 30 minute assessment allows us to get to know you and by completing just a few lessons, we will be able to advise you which course or lessons are best for you.

What happens during the assessment?

Our tutor will get to know you first and have a chat about your reasons for learning to touch type. We will cover the finger positioning required for touch typing, using our cameras to demonstrate this and you will be joining in. We will talk about posture and how important this is before we start touch typing. We will finish the session with a few touch typing lessons, working on the home row keys.

What happens next?

Following the assessment lesson, we will either speak to you directly on Zoom after the session has finished or give a written summary of our recommendations for lessons/courses going forwards.

Is it free?

We charge £50 for this assessment which is payable in advance. You are not under any obligation to book a course following this assessment.
